See you at ...................WASTED.

You have worked with some of the best musicians in the business. What was it like working with Billy Duffy and how would you rate him?
Duffy the Vampyre's Slayer
Glen: I immensely enjoyed seeing The Sex Pistols in 1996 (New York City) and 2002 (Atlantic City). I always wanted to hypothetically ask you if someone you trusted (or the band collectively trusted) had continually implored you (or the band) in 1976 to stay together no matter what personal frictions you had with each other because the music you were creating was extraordinary, would you have believed him/her and would it have made a difference in the band’s transition to Sid? I hear you are playing an acoustic set in Exeter on 28 Sept. Where is this?

Hi.
Thanks for sending the photos. Good to meet you and glad you liked the show. We really enjoyed coming to Budapest.
All the best,
Glen.
Dear lovely GLEN MATLOCK!
Let me call you so and the reason is that first I heard you in far,far 1976-s,when your disk "Anarchy In The U.K" appeared.I was shocked.I opened something new for me,something unknown at that it was unlike the other music, music which being unlike the other, impressed me, by it's sincere kindness. And when I saw your photo, can't forget it till nowadays. Every time, having got your next disk with great difficully, as the prices were and remain today too high (but usually it takes a lot of time before we can listen to your next disk) I immersed in your music world and imagined as if, I were together with you.
Unforgettable time!
You had everything on your way success and disappointment, but the time proved that your are "the giants of music"! I am glad with to every you success still many, many years. I always wanted to know about your as much. I'm interested in both:your life and work. Will you, please help me, if it's possible to know more about you not only as a musitian but as a person. We can understand music though the musitians thoughts and soul even if we don't understand the words in English. I would like to speak with you about everything.
But it's a pity it's not possible to write everything in a letter.
A letter is the only means communication with you...
The only hope to meet you and to speak with you it's your concert. But in fortunately it's very difficult. Heardly I when nor be able arrive in England single hope if you will arrive in Russia, we without fall a meet.Dreams...
It is difficult for you to understand as it was. earlier in the USSR (Soviet Union), with what difficulties to us the next albums of you reached. I remember those times when each new album got with the big work.
Now them it is possible the find - truth bad piracy copies from China. In expensive dear shops it is possible to order and buy original disks, but they cost stand even more expensively the present true price... Now much has changed, I could see you "alive" in video, but remained as before impossibility to receive the autograph of you. I always dreamed, if not you then though musician you which works I really love and with pleasure I listen when some day will come and in my small world of the admirer you as a photo with his its autograph. But apparently it only dreams - miracles simply do not happen, and if are that only for " the elected public. But all the same, my love to music you remain with me for ever.
And let dreams will not come true, but I trusted, and the belief and hope die the last... .My letter means you have reached, but I hoped to receive from your autograph-for me it is a limit dreams. With music of you I have lived the most part of the life and I wanted to have a part of this life having touched again by those unforgettable years of our youth by which part and were you.Forgive me,if I am too persevering. The you for me always was and will be that light with what the man lives. The thank for that you is.Let always success and our love will be with you. Dear lovely GLEN MATLOCK!I'm very sorry, but I have a request for you. Will you please send me your photo with your original autographs or just an answer on my letter. For me it would like... a present equal "the flight to the moon"! Oh,GOD!But it's just a dream,I even can't hope for it.There are no miracles in reality!?
Having finishing my letter let me wish you everything a person can wish to his friends:a successful work and a lot of happiness in your life, and also to continue gladden your admirers with your songs.Thank the time thas has presented us such a wonderful musician and man.I want you to be happy and always young! We love and always will be with you.Ever' your Helen. P.S.Excuse me, please my English.
Such beautifully trashed english!
Thank you Helen, I will make sure that Glen gets that pic to you.

Hello, hope all is well.
In November I'm putting on an art exhibition at the No More Grey gallery in Shoreditch. The show is called, "For Peel" and it features 50 artists saying thank you to Peel my contributing a painting of a band or singer they love which Peel brought to our attention. There's a very good mixture of wierd and wonderful stuff going on including a 6 foot by 8 foot painting of Yugoslavian band Laibach, a reggae corner and a shrine to Mark E. Smith of The Fall.
I want everyne who comes to the show to get a free publication made in a d.i.y. style fanzine. the publication wil feature drawings from the show and a few tributes. Former NME editor Andrew Collins NME has written a quite long piece and DJ Paul Gambaccini has agreed we can re-print the eulogy he gave at Peel's funeral. I just want a few comments from bands who did sessions and featured in the Festive 50's (which you certainly did). Pete Wylie, The BMX Bandits, Terry Edwards and a couple of others have each contributed a short but sweet paragraph or two about how Peel helped them.
Could you help me out by also saying a few words Best wishes, Harry

Mr. Matlock,
Seeing as how this year marks my 20th anniversary as a Sex Pistols fan, I decided to write a little testimonial. Enjoy.

Hello Glen,
I doubt if you remember me but I'm the bloke who left England to move to Florida 2 years ago. I also met you and shook your hand at the Filthy McNasties pub gig you did in London just before I left Old Blighty!
Anyway, Happy Birthday for the 27th mate... 50 years young Glen and still going strong. Good luck to you geezer.

Dear Sir,
My name is Jeff Lees and i have been a huge Sex Pistols fan since I was a teenager. I always admired the attitude and the music and the importance of what you guys did.I only recently picked up "On Something", your record with the Philistines, but I was suitably impressed. A great sound never goes away. I was wondering if there was any way at all that I could bother you for an autograph. I know that having been a Sex Pistol, you probably get bothered with millions of things like this, but it would really mean a lot to me. If there is any way that it would be possible,
Keep on rocking and I hope to hear from you!!!
Your friend,
Jeff
Dear Glen,
It's good to hear your track "On Something", I think it is a little like the stuff you did with Iggy on the soldier. It kind of reminds me of Thunders but its great. A very distinctive style and I love your bass. I used to love playing Anarchy and No Lip on my bass back in the seventies. It drives me mad that you don't really get the credit you deserve for co-writing the Sex Pistol's songs. Keep rocking, Good Luck Glen.
A 41 year old Sex Pistols Fan
m.tieuli
I think it's lost in all of the Pistol's aura how good of a bass player you are. I really enjoy the older versions of "substitute", where your bassline kicked the songs ass. A whole lot was lost when you left the Pistols. Best wishes, and good health to you, Glen.
Jeff BNJeff,
You are very astute! Thanks a lot man.
Matlock.
Hi,
I was at your show the other night, and had such a great time. I'm a mate of Paul T. M.'s (I was the bird sitting next to him in a red dress). I hope you do more shows; it was such a treat. I do kind of subversive silly old lady embroidery, but with modern text. You can see it at http://www.katewesterholt.com I know Paul through the Tom Tom gallery, where they have our stuff. Anyway, take a peek, hopefully it will make you smile.
Kate WKate,
Glad you enjoyed the show. I checked out your site and yes it definitely raised a smile. Maybe catch you around again with Paul.
All the best,
Glen.

im 37 and love punk music i suppose i was too young to remember the sex pistols properly but the second wave started it for me. what do you think of todays punk ie rancid green day bad religion etc. would be great to hear from you cheers mike
Hi,
Just wondering what amp and speakers you used when playing with the pistols on the "so it goes" tv show. Powerful sound! We play a few pistol's songs in our pub band but just cant get get that ballsy sound from modern bass combos. I read somewhere that you used a fender bassman and 2 12" celestion speakers in the cab, but cant be sure.
Thanks,
John
Hey Glen
What do you think of Q.P.R's chances this coming season??
hi glen, just a question having met you a couple of times (last time at the hard rock cafe, leeds) and chatting about stuff i never realised there was an early philistines album, hard work. is this still available anywhere and is the dead men walking album recorded live at the new roscoe leeds in july 2003 still available cos i was there and it would be cool to have a copy
cheers, daz
Mr. Matlock,
I had a question about the spunk album and how it came about being made. I have looked on the net with not much luck, the only place I found a reference was in Nils Stevensons book vacant. The reason I am asking is the fact I grew up listening to yourself, the banshees, the Adicts etc. and I am still a little unclear on the times and the reasons that some of the stories came about. I was wondering if you could give me a little bit of history. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Calieb Simmons
hey!!! I never saw the tour dates for the East coast here. ...Just glad I was able to find out about them...THEY WERE F_______ GREAT...
Helen M
Wonderful, great fantastic - when you coming south?
Pistol fan!!
Paul
Glen,
I was fortunate enough to see your one man show at Nuneaton on April 23rd and was lucky enough to have a few minutes of your time after the show when I brought you a Kalber Alcohol free Lager and some crisps.
I took some nice pictures that have been posted on various websites that are avid followers of your scene and status, (view pics)
Since the gig, your 'Who's he think he is when he's at home' CD has been on non-stop. Brilliant stuff!!
Respectfully
Alan
Hello, I hope this is the right address to send these to! I took some photos during the acoustic set for a review last Sunday and I wanted to send them on to Glen as they turned out pretty well. I've attached them with this email, there's eight altogether. (view pics)
All the best,

Dear Glen,
Do you like garlic? I love it, so I set up this site: www.nevertrustanyonewhodoesntlikegarlic.net Where I email everyone I can think of and ask them:
Do you like garlic? If so, do you find that you connect more with other garlic lovers (and if not, do your friends tend to also dislike it?) Lots of people have replied so far!! Such as : Bruce Campbell (from the "Evil Dead" movies, etc), Melora Craeger (Rasputina), Eric Burdon (The Animals), Alison Shaw (Cranes), David Prowse (Darth Vader!), David Bowie, Douglas Rushkoff, Ben Chapman("The Creature From The Black Lagoon"), and Holly Johnson (Frankie Goes To Hollywood) Please take a look at the site and let me know if YOU like garlic!
Thanks,
Bob

Hi Glen
Was good to meet you in Lincoln last night thanks for signing my Son's Precision that meant a lot.
I understand that you have problems with your hearing at the moment, thus the Acoustic set, which you carried off very well and won the crowd over!
I wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you with the Philistines.
Best regards Chris (from the Infidels)
Hi Glen,
Just wondered if you were coming to Strummercamp in May.It would be great if you were on the bill.

Best Mr. Glen Matlock !!!!!I´m a now 43 year old man from Sweden who never can forget the late 70`s . The Sex Pistols ( and of course many of the other bands of that era )came to form the rest of my life. The punkscene just make me feel like " what a fuck, the simple is good enough".
I will never forget what You meant to the music for me. Even today I just listen to old punkrock and sometimes I listen to the bands that was what many says the former punkbands like Nex York Dolls, Ramones. Patty Smith, Iggy Pop and that kind ...................
What would make me just feel so much greatful is to be the lucky owner of Your autograph Mr. Matlock.
Is there any possibility for You Mr. Matlock to write down Your autograph and send it to me all the way to Sweden ?
I say THANK YOU ! and wish good luck in the future whatever You come up to !
Best wishes from:
Joakim Larsson
Glenn,
Thanks for your book. I certainly reek! How did you know? I really like your melodic bass playing. WHO'S HE THINK HE IS is a classic.
Best wishes,
Joop
Hi Glen,
I have all the Phillistine cd's are they are class. What are the up to at present. Is there any new material coming out, is the DVD being sorted. I am a big fan of 3 Colours Red and that was how I sussed out the band. Look forward to the next release. Hope Chris McCormack is getting another band together since 3CR split, love the production on the "Who he thinks..." album. You should try and get over to Ireland for some shows.
Best Regards
Dinny Kennedy
im pete garner.. freds son and carols half brother.. just to say im a massive pistols fan.is their a gig in the pipeline mate?
Hi Glen,
Just a quickie - would it be possible to meet you during the gig you are playing at Lincoln Drill Hall next month, have a photo taken and get you to sign a bollocks / filthy lucre tour t-shirt I bought at the Pistols gig at Glasgow SECC in July 1996? I was right at the front of that gig (in the middle) and was knocked over 3 times in 10 minutes in the moshpit, and eventually had to retreat further back, but that was a fantastic concert and I managed to take a few photos on my wee single-use camera! I'll understand if you tell me to bugger off but all I ask for is a minute of your time and the pleasure of your company - maybe even share a pint if you're up for it!
Hope you can say yes......Alan Robertson.Alan,
Hi, yes I am sure if you hang about in the right place on the night that that can be arranged...
All the best,
Matlock.Brilliant! Cheers again Glen.
Alan Robertson.
Hey Glen Matlock, My name is Samuel Fawley but I am also known as Sam Savage. Your group The Sex Pistols has influenced me to start my band "The Punks Of LHS." LHS stands for Logansport High School which is the school we go to in Logansport, IN or I came up with it to stand for "Living Here Sucks." The band consist of four memembers including me Sam Savage as the lead singer, Atlee Roland as the guitar player and backup singer, Chris Babcock plays Bass Guitar like you did in The Sex Pistols, and Eric Callisto is the drummer. I really like you guys music. I know it sounds anarchist like and hostile but I love it. I am kind of disappointed that you guys didn't show up for The Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame Ceremony but I understand you guys don't want to have anything to with The Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame. We are going to try to do a cover of you guy's song "Silly Thing." I hope that is okay with you. I really love the guitar sound at that one part in "Silly Thing." I hope you don't mind if we cover Silly Thing at our Battle Of The Bands concert at the end of my Senior Year of High School. Be sure to tell Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, and Paul Cook about my band. I'd like them to know how much you guys have influenced us. I love all of you guy's music. It sounds awesome I think. I know a lot of people hated you guy's music but I love it. Shame on EMI and A&M for firing you guys. I really feel sorry for you guys being fired by that company. Well I am going to go now. Thank you for helping me get to where I am right now with Punk Rock music.
Sincerely,
Samuel Fawley aka. Sam Savage
Hey Glen (or whomever reads this), my name is James. I do this thing called the Great Star Wars Synchronicity Project where I listen to different albums with "Star Wars" to see if they synch up in any significant way. Check it out: jamesgreenejr.blogspot.com This week, I'm doing Sex Pistols and Sex Pistols-related records. Did "Bollocks" and "Swindle" already, and I plan to do "Filthy Lucre" tomorrow. Interesting stuff so far. Thought you might want to take a look, if you're bored or something. Well, thanks.
James
Hi, I was wondering are Glen Matlock and The Philistines still scheduled to play at Friends Bar as part of South By Southwest in Austin on Thursday March 16 at 10:30 PM? I went to the Friends Bar website and it didn't list Glen Matlock as a performer. I'm trying to get a hotel room in Austin so I can see the show, but first I wanted to make certain that the show is still going to happen.
Best regards,
EricEric hi. sorry we can't make it out to austin this year after all. Glen.

Hi Glen,
i am a 46yr old ex punk(had my own band and everything)and still follow your career,so imagine my suprise when my 18yr old son was telling me how he is now playing bass for a soon(hopefully)to be signed band back in the midlands where we used to live(he mormally plays electric six string).
he is now listening to your stuff to pick up some tips,so there you go still having an impact on the youth of today.

Hi.
Now an ageing 40yr old law student, missed out 1st time around due to the Sex Pistols and the influence of Glen Matlock whom i idolised and set my standards by. Hence the reason i am back at university. Couldnt believe my luck when i heard that i was going to see Pete Doherty who could have fitted in well as a Pistol and that Glen's band was headlining as well....
I wanted to know if i can get a signature on a couple of old items and perhaps a photo to make this a really special night...... if not i understand i will enjoy it nevertheless.
live in hope
Ricky
hi glen i am a big fan of yours right back from the pistols to the rich kids to dead men walking up to the philistens i have seen you preform in the pistols twice once at the pheonix festivel and at crystal palace also in bristol with dead men walking out of all the bands you have been in which was or is your fav and is there any truth in the pistols going to japan and do you ever keep in touch with any of your former band mates.
thank you glen.

Hallo, Glen and Philistines!
As a once-and-future Los Angeleno, I've been reading with dismay the fact that you've been out to my ex-city, and I missed it!! Pls don't get me wrong -- I'm happy for everyone who saw/heard you, and psyched for you guys for a good US tour, but what about ME?! ;) Presently residing overseas, I'm just wondering when you might come back to Japan? The shabu-shabu is waiting! And Glen, are you going to miss Hollo? What's yr verdict on QPR's season thusfar? I guess I've expected a bit better, but the problems don't necessarily reside with the ex-mananger...
Cheers!
Steve
Hey Glen, its me david the drummer from your san diego show in december (live 45).now we are known as the rich white males, not to be confused with the Rich kids or richard nixon for that matter...........just wanted to take a moment to let you know what a thrill it was to have played with you and to Be able to see you guys play a real rock and roll show,i only wished i would've had your cd sooner because now its what i listnen to in my ipod all the time. Right now I'm training to run the 26 mile marathon in June and a lot of the miles I run now are powered by your songs ,kooky, the swanker, piece of the action among the rest of them have given me the balls to run that extra mile while i sing along...well i look forward to seeing your induction into The rock and roll hall of fame next month on tv..yeah you deserve it ...........have a good time in all that you do ......

...Any chance of some Canadian dates Glen? Specifically Toronto?
Nice job in the film Punk Attitude by the way... Looking forward to hearing from you,
Sam Kohn
Hiya Glen,
just been reading on your site, and I thought I'd remind you of your days in the Heavy Metal Kids. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, maybe it was someone else, but surely you're the right age. Anyway, I just wanted to clear it up; check out whether it really was you. It's played on my mind for years (well, at least once every fifteen years since I realised you were the Sex Pistols' bass player before Sid), and with the wonders of modern technology and the internet I am able to do so.
I was no big fan, being only a 13-year-old youngster in 1977, but I remember widening my musical knowledge at the local library when they first started getting cassette tapes in, and I didn't mind it (Kitsch). I believe the late Gary Holton was one of the crew, too, if my amnesia serves me correctly. Correct me if I'm wrong. So, what's the score? I know it's selective amnesia, but is it something you'd rather forget? Bad memories, embarrassed, or whatever.
Anyway, enough rambling for now, much work to do, and maybe it's boring to you.
Regards,
Andy Wright
Hello
I'm not sure if Mr. Matlock reads any of these, but I just wanted to let him know hat everyone at the record store I work at (Turn It Up Records turnitup.com) in Northampton, MA are massive Sex pistols fans, and fans of Mr. Matlocs bass playing in particular. I was lucky enough to catch him playing a few years back on one of the Sex Pistols reunion tours, and it was fabulous. A copy of Bollocks just sold actually, inspiring me to write to you.
I know this is perhaps way out of my league, but if it were at all possible to get something autographed by Mr Matlock for our "wall of rock greats" we are assembling, it would be fantastic and beyond our wildest expectations.
In any case, i just thought I'd tell him what he has most likely heard countless times. That his music has inspired me/us over the years and that he is AWESOME!!!
Thanks for your time
Roger and Ian on behalf of the Turn It Up staff
Glen,
I think you should put together a compilation of all your stuff since late70's-I'm sure people would like to hear the Spectres and other things you've done.
Michael
ps I think you must be very rich from royalties, can you lend me a tenner, or even more?
Dear Glen,
Hope all is well back at home....look forward to many more shows with The Philistines....and many new Glen Matlock songs. Best wishes in the New Year...and let me know if you ever get a chance to listen to any of those CDs of mine.Cheers,,

Also in the book The complete Clash it says that you and Mick Jones wrote a song together back in the day dyou recall it ? or better still have a copy of it ? What chance is there of getting a signed postcard or picture of yourself

Dear Mr. Matlock,
I was at your show at the Knitting Factory the other night, and saw you at the Beauty Bar afterward. I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the performance, and how much I love your "Open Mind" album. I should have said that at the time, but better late than never. Thanks for a
great show!
Cynthia
Hi
I'm 'Video Louis' here in Southern California, drove from the 'Valley' to Downey to see Glen and guys do a FANTASTIC set at the Anarchy Library.
A great small punk homey bar where the band was well received. I talked to Glen about doing an interview, probably on Monday at the Hollywood gig...the Knitting Factory which is a half a block from the Grahman's Chinese Theater. My partner Kiki wants to do this interview, she was not able to make it tonite. You can see her interviewing Wattie -Exploited in 1985, or Dave Vanian in 1993. We have been doing this since the eighties!

I am going to put the DIGITAL PICS I took tonight on my new daily plog [punk log] called Punk Rock Saved My Life.. AND ATTACHING SOME FOR YOU NOW... (view pics).
Glen, My name is Al Contreras, and I was at the show at the Knitting Factory on Monday night in Hollywood. It was a great show, and the band sounded awesome. Lots of energy. And it was extremally special to see Jonesy come out and play with you and the Philastines. How did that feel playing with Steve in another band? It was definitely a highlight of my year seeing you two up there playing some great Rock 'n Roll.
Also I must say with sincere congratulations, The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame finally beckons for the Sex Pistols, much deservedly so to you and your mates. You single handely changed the face of rock music with that band, so feel comfortable in having my respect as musicians and the great band you truly were. The topper to my night that Monday after the show was as I was walking back to my car, who do I see walking across Hollywood Blvd. None other than Mr. Steve Jones, with a mate of his. I complimented Jonesy on such a great sounding show and expressed my love for his radio show "Jonesy's Jukebox," of which I listen religiously, daily. He said "Thanks Mate" , and I asked if he would take a photo with me, and he did. My wife couldn't turn on the camera, being so nervous about being in the presence of the "Sire Of Wilshire", Steve got a little pissed and said if we could make it quick, as he was feeling a little under the weather. It was such an amazing thing for me to get a picture with Jonesy. I also got some neat pictures of yourself and the band onstage. Once again, and thanks for the wonderful show that you and the boys put on for us fans of yours.
Respectfully, and always a fan,
Al Contreras

An American was saying about watching The Rich Kids on Peter Cook's Revolver, can this be purchased on DVD and where,Thanks John Reid Big Rich Kids, Mavericks, Philistines, Spectres and Pistols Fan. Dear Glen and Steve,
Merry Christmas and thanks for the terrific show at the Knitting Factory. I really had a great time and the philistines are marvelous!...Hope to see you again on your next trip west!. I finally remembered when I had seen Mr. McVeigh before...I saw him in Chicago along time ago when he played at the Aragon with Steve and Paul in the Professionals. Didn't he have more of a kinda powdered wig / "Paul Revere and the Raides" sort of hairdo back then? What I can't remember was whether The Professionals were on the bill with The Jam or with Lou Reed for those hows....Mr. Jones, do you remember those Professionals shows in Chicago?
And Glen, thanks to the invite back stage, and hope you enjoy some of the stuff on those discs, and have had a safe trip back home If you ever see John Dowie again say hi for me.. When yer back in LA again and if you want to see those old revolver episodes...give us a ring. Otherwise I got my copy on Ebay---very reasonable to for all 7 episodes. Keep on Rockin' from a huge fan (although I hope to take off some of the weight right after the holidays)
Rich Rockin'K
I will be at the Knitting Factory this evening with my son Jeffrey, 16. My wife and I are going thru a divorce and it is a real special treat to be able to take him to Hollywood to see half of his favorite group, The Sex Pistols.
Thanks for continuing making good music. We are really looking forward to the show tonight.
Robert Sherman,
Calabasas, California
Hello Glen,
Great to meet and talk to you before the show. Wish there was more people there but you guys still rocked. Thanks for taking the time to talk with me and look forward to seeing you play at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony. Keep up the good work and have a Merry Christmas and an even better New Year!
Pete

Dear Mr. Matlock,
God save you, and the Philistines, the Rich Kids, and, if it is not too much to ask as well, The Sex Pistols. I had a wonderful time at your show at
Fitzgerald's down in Huntington Beach. It was really great to meet you. Sorry to be such a gushing aging fan boy but well ...it's not everyday you
can thank someone personally who really did change the world, and for the better to boot. I am really looking forward to hearing you on the radio on Monday. I do hope Mr. Jones will be feeing better (PS The JJBx radio show is the best thing on anywhere God save Mr. Jones while were at it). I hope to come by The Knitting Factory Monday as well, but I bet it sells out (you deserve no less). And I will have been up all night taking care of our little sick babies here at Cedars. But still ya never know....the kiddies may all behave tonight. Finally if you end up with any left over time in LA, and want to check out that Revolver DVD with a very very young Glen Matlock cavorting with Midge and the Rich Kids, John Dowie and Peter Cook, well ...just give us a call anytime....310-908-4032. YOU ROCK! And love the new album man! Hope they play it do death!
cheers, RK

Gee Glen, if i had known that you were part of the SP reunion.... After having spent Hell-LA shitfaced time with your chums... and who doesn't know them... I would have defiantly shown up-just for you! Actually, I missed you last year gig as I produced The Robert Johnson Heritage and Blues Festival in Mississippi, dealin' with those good ol' boyz- Clapton, and his best friend in crime. : d
I have never gone for what society deems is hot- rather, who I personally find hot and appealing- And after 25 years, I don't stay impressed easily.
I follow my own rules-and slam to the beat of my own creativity-and baby, you are the Punk Rock Original ever!! Always have been in my punker yearbook. Regardless of what happens tonight, please make some time to contact me before the world blows chunks- Cuz I knew about you when fans didn't have a fckn' clue! And many of these burnouts are still a product of the industry society! B-sides, Ratt and Capn' have the highest respect for you-which speaks volumes for your integrity : D
Never have been vacant, just pretty overcrowded at times...

Hi Glen,
I have just finished 'I was a teenage Sex Pistol' for the second time and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it - both times. After everything I've read about the Pistols and the whole punk scene it is refreshing to hear the story from someone who, as many authors on the subject falsely profess, was actually there. The factual information combined with the humour makes for very enjoyable reading (I laughed out loud at some bits, which makes you look a bit strange when your on a bus full of people).
I was a bit too young to really appreciate or understand what was going on in '76 & 77 (I was only 12!) but through the older influence of my brother I listened avidly to all the punk singles and LP's that he brought home to annoy my parents. I later found my own identity and established my own record and poster collection. Most of the concerts I went to were in Aylesbury Friars or in London and have seen you play quite a few times.
I got into the alternative scene 'properly' after the pistols had split and in truth never really got out of it. In spite of some carefully constructed clothes and 10 hole doc's I never did achieve all my goals ; to become the lead singer in a punk rock band (although me and some mates did try to less than good effect), or radically change the world and bring down the state ( I'm not really sure now if I knew why I wanted to bring down the state then but my futile attempts to upset the status quo, by being largely a pain in the ass at times, didn't really have much effect even though I probably believed my intentions were for the good of all mankind). Instead I have two young children and a missus, who all love the early punk sounds, and a steady job, not very punk rock but at least we can pay the bills. In general many of my anarchic or controversial ideas have mellowed with age and time mainly because they were naive and immature but some of the key ideas and beliefs still remain.
I wont drag, although I could, so before I go the following:
In spite of the people who thought that the Pistols reunions were wrong or sad etc I thought they were great and provided at least one old fart the chance to see a group that had been very significant in his life, so thanks for that (I went to Finsbury and Crystal Palace).
I also wonder whether you could confirm something for me? I saw you many years ago in the Buckingham Arms in Aylesbury (it's now a Thai restaurant - sacrilege) and I can't remember if you played as the Philistines or the Gunslingers, my mate says it was the Gunslingers but I'm not convinced I did get the song sheet and your autograph, but it obviously doesn't have the band name on it.
Have seen you since with DMW at the underworld and again in Aylesbury we had a photo taken so I will try to scan it and send you a copy. Enjoyed very show I have been to and I must try to catch up with another Philistines gig as it's been a while since the last time, although it was my mates birthday so I don't remember that much of that one!
As I have just moved to Germany, to a town about 50 minutes from Hamburg I wonder whether you have any German gigs planned? I'm know you would be well accepted here as the scene is very vibrant and lively.
I guess that's it, love the new LP and thanks for the years of listening pleasure and I hope to see you and the band somewhere soon.
Merry Christmas and a successful New Year, Jules
Julian Sargent (BA Hons)
Hey Glen, Seeing as you are playing the states let's hope you are able to come up to Canada someday soon! I received your book and CD as a B-day present signed in August, and wanted to say it was great. Loved reading the book and I love the CD.
Also Congrats on getting into the R&R Hall of Fame. It's well deserved and about time! Anyways, Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year
SusanSusan, Hi.
Thanks and glad you dug the book and CD. Things are slowly picking up for the band in your neck of the woods, so you never know we may well hit Canada sometime in the New Year.
All the best,
Matlock.
Hey!
You're coming all the way to California & no San Francisco dates? Concord is way out in the sticks. Hopefully you'll add an SF show.
MackMack,
That's what we thought too but things like that ain't always down to the band. Next time I guess - mind you, you could always get a bus!
Matlock.
Hi Glen
Although your On Something album is an absolute masterpiece, I think Cheap Emotions is still the best post-Pistols song you have ever done.
I would think it would play fantastic 'live' too - have you ever performed it 'live' and are you likely to do in future at all?
Al Gray
Hi Karen,
I doubt if you will remember me writing a few years back. To refresh your memory, I had, at that time, a 9 year old son (Richard Miller) who was very inspired by Glen and the Sex Pistols. Glen was very kind and wrote my son an email.
I am just writing a brief update to pass onto Glen, because the email he sent made a huge impression on my son. Since then, my son has been learning the electric and double bass… yesterday, he was accepted in the Symphonic Band in his school, a position usually for older students. He now reads music as well. I thought of Glen and his email when he was accepted yesterday, so decided to write this update.
The new look of the site is great and I wish you both the very best.
Take Care,
Alexa.Alexa,
Hello. It would appear congratulations are in order - you must be very proud.
I am honoured that you think I have played a small part in Richard's achievement, please pass on a 'well done' to him from me.
He can also take pride in the fact he is one up from me in that I never managed to learn musical notation - but then you don't need it too much when you play punk rock!
Warmest wishes all round...
All the best,
Glen.
Hi Glen. Been talking to a fellow Carbon Silicon fan about you but she beat me to it when it came to dropping you a line. Everyone seems too shy to say anything online for fear of incurring the wrath of the Sigue Sigue Sputnik fans but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who wishes it was you rather than Tony James who'd decided to add another coupla strings to your guitar. Not that I'm suggesting that this would be a step up
'cause I appreciate good bass players much more than rhythm guitarists but Carbon Silicon already has one of those. It's just that (and there's no way of saying this without sounding bitchy) TJ's really starting to come across as an also-ran who's hitched his wagon to someone else's star and he just can't cut it with a musician so much more talented than himself. I'd love to see you do a project with your good mate Mick Jones and I get the feeling that, not only would you be on more of an equal footing with him that TJ is (was?) but the two of you would have a blast an' all. I mean
to say, TJ doesn't even support QPR, does he? To be honest, this is all absolutely none of my business and I'm being very cheeky (especially as Tony James may be a friend of yours) but I just had to say something 'cause I'm a bit gobby at times and just can't help meself. Sorry.
All the best
Roisin
i really hope that i can see sex pistols live! please do the comeback tour really soon!!!
HenriIn the mean time Henri, check out the Philistines - THEY'RE ****ING GREAT!! I KID YOU NOT
k
Dear Glen.
I searched on google for lyrics to Ghosts of Princes... and came up with this site. So grateful. First heard the track played by Annie Nightingale on her sunday night slot on Radio one in the early 80's when I was about 13, and a mad pistols fan.
Managed to buy the album on ebay a few years ago and have worn that track out, so very chuffed to have the lyrics, as I try to sing along but the words are hard to make out! Honoured to see the Pistols in '96 at Finsbury Park.
Thanks for it all...Erika (Ex UK, now living in Australia)
Hey Glen,
Ever concidered joining you old friend and mucker Mick Jones doing something together would be ace.I hear that he is looking for a new bass player .....
SarahWell you never know - I like Mick and he hasn't had a bass player that's come up to what I'd call scratch yet!
Cheers,
Matlock.I predict it would be awesome ....loved it when he got up for Dead men Walking and was hoping he would do it this year.Missed you on this years tour mate, but i hear you have been busy touring with the Philistines.
Sarah

I saw an advert that you will be playing in LA but I'm pretty stupid and I forgot what the venue was. Could you help out a old fan???
Thanks,
Bob BostonGlen and the Philistines are provisionally booked to play about 8 dates in LA - all in December. I am just waiting for Glen to give the go ahead to list them on the site .... so watch this space.....

Hi Glen,
I saw you at the Hard Rock cafe in Leeds and i loved your set.I think that you are a very talented bloke an the Pistols would have been lost with out you. You have influenced an entire generation. keep on rocking an i hope to see you again in the not to distant future.
Will the Philasines be playing any gigs up North ie,Leeds,Huddersfield or Manchester.
Take care
From Purple Dave [the keys player with New Vinyl]
Dear Glen
Cast your mind back to the Pistols playing at the Fforde Greene in Leeds (pre-Anarchy single, Nils on mixing desk) - a young guy called Jez chatted to you afterwards - I next saw you (same venue) when you came to stay with a friend of yours in Leeds (some art college connection?) when you came to see Generation X at the same (grotty) venue (it was so funny - Billy couldn't believe you were in Leeds (of all places) and some old git from some old (crap) Leeds band was actually in tears! - because Gen X 'hadn't paid their dues' (what a twat!). Last time I was in touch was when you still lived in Maida Vale, I think. I eventually moved down to London and found that the streets were paved with dogshit (not gold) but I played a bit of rock'n'roll, made a few albums
etc.) - and shared some room (in Maida Vale) with some geezer from that era - sommat' to do w' Killing Joke? - who knows - who cares?!). I even managed to become the band-booker at The Marquee (1992-ish) (I booked your band! - you didn't say hello!)
I was teaching at South Thames College and managed to get in touch with you - I remember you expressed an interest in talking to students - but it never reached 'fruition'(?) I now teach at Leeds College of Music - any chance you ever come 'oop north'
(I know you're a London boy) - if this rings any bells - please contact me - I would love you to talk to some of my students (my babies) How's fatherhood going? I have one boy, Charlie (aged 6) , - he likes Hip-Hop & The Sugababes, but I temper that with a bit of Rolf Harris, Bennie Hill & a bit of R'nR ( he seems to prefer Dr. Feelgood to your old gang - They're still a bit scary (when you're only 6!). He also knows all the words to 'Notty No Jester' (Big Youth) remember that one? - so I'm quite proud!
'Any ways' - if you want to get in touch (and pursue a new career as an 'after-dinner speaker', or just to 'fire-up' a few kids) - please let me know
I remember you very fondly (how shite is that?) - 'punk-wise'
Keep on rockin'
Love,
Jez
I saw you play in the Mean Fiddler in the early nineties when your band was fronted by a guy called Gerry when you were 'Glen Matlock & The Mavericks'. Do you have a CD of you work at that time and if so what was it called and where can I buy it.
Many thanks & best wishes.
Lynn
Hello,
My name is Paul Metzger and I live in Oklahoma. I've been a Pistols fan for years and also a fan of your music. I just bought and watched 'Filth and Fury' yesterday and loved it. I wasn't old enough to enjoy the first wave of punk, but eventually got into Joy Division, the Banshees and The Cure and backtracked from there into the late-70s punk bands.
Well, I just wanted to tell you that your music(then and now) has been a constant for me and helped me form that liberating 'fuck you, I'll do what I want' attitude that I still have to some extent today.
Thanks for making great music. I wish I could see you live in the future. I have family in the north of England and I go there every year, so maybe I'll get lucky and catch your show.
Thanks
Paul Metzger
Hello Glen,
I really like your music, and on of my favorite songs is "Ghost of Princess in Towers". I searched for the chords so I could play it, but didn't found them, and I suck at tabbing songs on my own. What are the chords used in that song? It would be awesome if you could answer me.
Keeep rocking, you are a great musician.
-Ana
hi glen, just wanted to say that i was blown away when i saw you in a pub on saturday night with your family, to see a modern day genius like your self was pretty amazing, i,m glad your still playing and i hope your getting as much fun out of it as you were in the old days, to people like myself you were an inspiration, one of the reasons i and many other thousands picked up a bass guitar, you wrote some great songs , and when your gone, people will know that you were the "dylan" of the punk years. all the best to you, oh and by the way , i own a record shop in salisbury called "£.s.d records 19 west st wilton salisbury wilts sp2odl , if you ever want any records let me know. cheers swannie
First of let me say that, even though it´s by e-mail it is great to talk with such an idol!!! I was only 2 years old when punk broke up in England and Portugal was very, very far from this!!! I really admire your role in music and in the sex pistols, it was such
a pitty that in the philthy lucre tour you weren't able to come to Lisbon, to be able to see you guys perform!!!!
I have so much to say, but now it seems that it has been blown away from my mind!!! Well, I'll get in touch later.
Happy birthday (late) and a good life!!!
Hugo
Hi Glen,
I am 12 years old i think the sex pistols are the best band ever i have all the british 7"/12" 19 cd's 3 video's 5 DVD's 5 shirts and 2 posters. So for young fans like me could you get John, Paul and Steve for another british tour so i could finally see you live because i think you boys are the best.
thanks for reading this,
Rozza
Hi Glen,
Just thought I'd drop you a note to tell you the album's so great!!!!!!! I heard in on Steve Jones' radio show here in LA and I bought it immediately. I show the Filth and the Fury in my Rhetoric of Documentary class at Occidental College, and we talk about the hype vs. the truth alot. You gotta admit, it's a great "story." Thanks again for the cool album. Honest punk.
suck it and see,
Dr. Paul Casey
Hi
Steve Jones mentioned on his radio program, Jonesy's Jukebox http://www.indie1031.fm/shows/jonesy.php, that Glen Matlock would be in town(LA) on Dec 16th and dropping by for a chat. Is it true and is there a show in LA to be seen???
Thank you
Hal, a fan in LA

why not get Steve Paul and John to guest on your next lp thereby making it a new pistols album of sorts and probably going in straight at number 1 if not even higher?

Hello Glen,
I was happy to hear your interview on the Rock and Roll Geek Show last days... I do myself a podcast about rock and punk rock from Marseille-France. I hope you will come with your band here soon too. 2006 ?
In the interview I heard by coincidence Franck Black was working with you. I'm trying to connect him since months but I found any contact or e-mail address anywhere. Can you show him my message if possible or give him my e-mail address : ******@*****
I would love to do an interview with him. Best regards and next time in Marseille I hope !

Hi Glen,
Only found out about the Leeds gig today (the day before). Got my ticket. Look forward to seeing you there tomorrow.
Barbara.
Hi Glen,
I recently picked up copy of "Who he thinks he is....." and I am blown away by it ! The first track "My Little Phillistine" is an absolute classic. The guitars on the album are amazing and the choruses are massive. Well what would you expect with Chris McCormack from 3 Colours Red and Bob Andrews Generation X on guitar duties. I just cannot get enough of it, the production is amazing. How did I miss it first time around. I always keep an eye on what Chris McCormack is up to, he is some boy on the guitar. Look forward to checking the rest of your cds.
Best Regards

hello
my name is martin, artist and member of longtime punkband moped lads in switzerland. we organising punkrock shows for a long long time absolutely do it yourself without any support of councils or whatsoever. now we wanna do a small festival in lucerne at the above mentioned date (uk subs, vibrators, the bucks (oldest swiss punkband) are confirmed) and we are looking for a classical band more. so you are one of our all time top punkrock artists and we would like to ask you, if you could imagine, playing this show in switzerland or otherwise another time in luzern. that would make us really happy and proud thank you very much for your answer and i wish you all the best in the future.
many greetings from switzerland

Hi-----will you be selling your " I was a teenage sex pistol" book at the gig on the 30th and signing afterwards --will make great xmas pressie if so --Adam
Glen generally tries to get the books and CDs available for sale at gigs
Dear Glen,
Hi. Our names are Chantel and Kelly, and we're a couple of teenaged Pistols fans from Australia.
We just wanted to tell you that we think you're the greatest, and we don't care if you like the Beatles or wash your feet...yeah...
Anyway, we needed to ask you a favour. It's kind of a big one, so we understand if you turn us down, but here's the thing:
We couldn't make it to the 1996 reunion tour of the Pistols, both because of where we live and the fact that we didn't know who you all were at the time. (gasp) so....howzabout one more tour? In Australia? hey? It'll be cool! Don't you wanna be cool, Glen?
Well, we have to go harrass Jonesy and Cookie and John about it now, at least think about it, PLEASE! Or at least bring the Philistines or something!
We love you!
Kelly and Chantel

Hello Glen
Bit of a strange request really! I manage a beach soccer team on the Isle of Wight called Wight Knuckle Ryde and have been looking for a track to play as we take to the sand for our matches. I've been trawling google and found two White Knuckle Ride tracks - one by Danielle Dax and one by yourself. I found that Amazon are selling 'On Something' and have ordered it. Do I need your permission to play your version publicly?
Check out our new site at www.wightknuckleryde.com http://www.wightknuckleryde.com There's quite a good music scene down here - would you ever fancy playing the island?
All the best
KevKevin,
Ha ha!
No, you just go ahead and play it.
I shall check out the website and will have to endeavour to come and see you guys play and shout some abuse at you!
All the best,
Matlock.
Hi Glen,
Sorry to accost you in lagered state at Roxy Gig, Koko club. As I said, I've just discovered Pistols records and the tracks are virtuoso performances. I think that the level of musicianship was ignored in the public criticism at the time.
my site is www.robertfranks.com which has free MP3 downloads. I also have some punk tracks but I've never got round to recording them, I don't rely on music for a living.

Glen,
Was just looking over your web site to check for upcoming live dates and ended up reading the messages which brough back memories of those great days in the late 70's. I was at the Rich Kids gig at the 100 club and during the support group's set (can't remember who that was..?) you, Steve New, Midge and Rusty were stood next to us against the back wall facing the stage, I remember it well because we were all taking the piss out of each other for wearing the same clothes from Johnson & Johnson. Saw you again a couple of months later at the Lyceum, you were about an hour late getting on stage 'cause you had lost Steve New and had to ask the crowd to help look for him, when he finally turned up for the set he was so wasted that he kept falling over on stage, still managed to play some great guitar though.
You used to play a brilliant version of Pretty Vacant with the Rich Kids, did that ever make it onto record? I'm pretty sure that I have copies of all the RK tunes that were recorded but would love to get hold of that gem if it is available.
Also noticed that you posted the lyrics for 'Ghosts of Princes' that somebody requested, what about the chords? it's a classic tune and I'd love to have a go at it.
Thanks for everything and hope to catch you live again soon.
RT.
NO Glen NO Pistols Know Glen Know Pistols - saw you Toronto in summer 2003 it was great cheers mate your fan ,
Brad Cow DiseaseBrad,
You're obviously a man of taste and distinction!
All the best,
Matlock.
Hi Glen,
Is it true that you wont be touring with the Dead Men this September? It was allways a pleasure to see you on the previous tours and it was an
honor to meet you in person. Who is replacing you on bass? If you are not returning lets hope you will return to the fold soon as it won't be the same without those rousing versions of Pretty Vacant & Burning Sounds.
Regards,
Norm'
Glen,
Your last album was excellent and My Little Philistine was a classic single. I can't wait for On Something to make its way into my CD player!

Dear webmaster/Glen Matlock:
I just want to say that I think Glen Matlock is a class act all the way. I really love the songwriting and sound that he contributed to the pistols and to Iggy Pop’s work. (Soldier could have been a lot better, that wasn’t Glen’s fault!)
Anyway, I hope to hear more great tunes from him in the future.
Ed
Hi Glen
I saw you and dead men walking around three years ago in the Beaufort Ballroom in Ebbw Vale S. Wales, fancied you at the time too! But that’s another story (but you had the most awful ‘tank-top’ on). Are you (or any others) planning any gigs in S. Wales this year? Doubt it, but it would be a change to have some good music on the scene.
Nikki
Hi Glen
Any idea when your tour dates with the Philistines might be available please? According to the Swindle website you are doing Club Riga near Southend with
them in July? Is that right and have you any other confirmed dates? (I check your website every day to see if they are on.) On Something is a superb album, would love to see you play it live.
Thanks
Al GraySorry no news about this yet Al - we are all waiting with bated breath - when they play, the Philistines are IMMENSE and personally I can't wait to see them again. Glen will let us know as soon as anything is confirmed.

WHAT IS YOUR DADS NAME AND ARE YOU RELATED TO MALCOLM MATLOCK PLEASE WRITE BACK BECAUSE I AM HIS DAUGHTER Gemma Matlock
Gemma, Hello.
My dad's name is Stanley. I don't know a Malcolm Matlock I'm afraid.
All the best,
Glen Matlock.
Hi Glen
Just to say hello (Again) as I was the person who got you your fizzy water etc last night! I look after the End clubs lighting (Where Trash is held) and was really pleased to meet you. Originally from Liverpool, I saw you in the Spectres in 1980 in the old Erics club and still have my copy of "This Strange Effect." Ah! happy days!!
One of my favourite bands from the punk era was "Penetration" who I discovered, a few years ago, had re-formed and still gig. Check out www.loversofoutrage.co.uk <http://www.loversofoutrage.co.uk> which is their site and contact point. I know that the reason they got together in 1976 was after witnessing early Pistols shows and its great to see that energy and inspiration still flows in all its mysterious ways in the world!
Anyway, all the best and like I said last night, much respect.
Woody
now then mr matlock, have you forgotten where yorkshire is or what?? i know i could venture into lancashire on the 28th may but unfortunately i'm being
rocky horrored that night! (and trust me i'd rather be in manchester!) yoni's gone on holiday now for a week so my link to the world is severed!!
is leeds on the agenda? i know huddersfields a bit much to ask for but hey, leeds is cool - kirk and mike think so anyway and we're spending far too
much money on those two, so its your turn now!!! schellxx
Hi Glen
I am writing to you from Ethiopia although I am a Brit - I am an aid worker out here for VSO - but also a musician/producer/remixer/sound engineer and
have my studio out here. I've always enjoyed the music of yours and the pistols and cult / kirk / deadmen etc (I'm now33) and I have started a website of my own music with some free mp3 downloads etc www.invisiblesystem.com http://www.invisiblesystem.com
It will be on temple of sound's new album cover so should get some hits! I am placing a link to your website and can also to yours and happy if you
are able to do the same. I am always willing to collaborate with remixes, collaborations etc
Best wishes

hi glen, remember what it was like trying to get people to check out new music that was good, this is some new music that is good, check out the link with the two tracks from the current single by blaknoisewhitesoul and let me know what you think, if you get the time you can slao read the press release but who gives a shit about the press release and the plaudits if the music doesn't grab you, so ignore the press release and give up 7 minutes of ear time to these two tracks,

Hi Glen
Just been listening to 'On Something' on your website...its spot on!
Many Thanx

Hello again, Just a quick note to let you know the band are heading down your way twice during April!! The Standard in Walthemstow on the 15th, and The Kings Arms Acton 23rd, and would you belive it... we're bass - less at the moment ...auditioning for a replacement as i write. It's a bloody nightmare!! So if you fancy a great night and be up for a good laugh with the lads, you'd be more than welcome to join the 'Sex Pistols Experience' on stage for either/both those gigs if you want!?? As it is at the moment we're stuck for all the shows booked for april! Also while i have your attention, maybe Alan Parkers mentioned it (?) we're staging the 'boat party' again on june 11th!! and seeing as you missed out on the origional one in 77'... we'd love for you to come along for the ride this time!? Leaving from embankment early evening of that Saturday for around 4hrs of good fun, live music and nostalgia! Let me know if your up for it, as i need to keep to strict numbers for the port authorities new regulations, and only have a limited number of spaces. We'd very much like you & cookie, or any guests you like (?) to attend if you could. And just so you know, we never mention to anyone who is, or who is not coming along, this is most definetly not a marketing ploy, and your attendance would be kept firmly under wrapps. As i said, there is only around 100 guests coming along, pretty much everyone is knowen to us, so there should'nt be any nobheads to hassle you. Cheers Glen, have a think about Acton and Walthemstow, we'd hate to have to cancell !?
Best Regards, Dave c/o The S.P.Ex! nope !
Hi Glen
Just looking through the various messages people have sent you and came across one from a girl who was at the Sugarmill in stoke last October. Just to say that I was at that gig as well and you were amazing. I missed you
there the previous year because of the over 14 age limit but I have never recovered from that great night when I could finally get in. When you played God Save The Queen and PV it was one of the best things ever. Don‚t know if
you remember the gig but I was right at the front of the stage and was wearing the God Save the Queen t shirt (I was quite near the girl that had her phone bitten in half by Kirk). Hope you can remember me, however I missed you at the end but managed to make a lunge to shake your hand just before you went off stage. Just to let you know that I am a massive pistols fan (and I mean a massive Pistols fan and collector) and YOU ARE THE NO1 PISTOL! Full stop! Also that you have inspired me to Play the bass from that great night at the mill and all of your great work and that I hope that you know how much you have inspired me and I‚m sure a lot more young bass players out there.
I really hope that you get this email and someday I may get the honour to speak to you and meet in person next time you are at the Mill. Hopefully see you soon at the Mill in 2005 and try and get your autograph. Again thanks a lot mate for being a great inspiration to me and best wishes for all that you set out to do in the future. Don‚t worry about replying I just wanted to let you no how much of an inspiration you are and how important i think you are to 'punk' and the pistols.
Cheers mate
Dan (15 year old Pistol)
Glen
Have you ever considered doing a mini-tour of the UK, not to solely to perform music but more of an "Evening with Glen Matlock." Take in some smaller venues and invitations with audiences of around 150-400 people and chat about your life in music. Bring your guitar and/or bass and possibly perform some Pistols, Rich Kids or whatever takes your fancy. You could also make some money flogging your book (which I have now read) and CDs and other merchandise.
Cheers
Tim
Hi Glenn
Really looking forwards to seeing the band, any venues set for 2005, especially London.
Thanks and keep up the great work
Bruce
hello stranger, still waiting for all the DMW tour dates to be announced. Schell and I have taken to ringing various venues to try and find out when + where you are playing. but not in a stalker way I hasten to add just in case K. is thinking of filing this letter under D for dodgy northern birds!!!
Today's phone call was to Huddersfield Town Hall which, although it doesn't have any atmosphere, is very local to us. I was informed you won't be playing there. please tell me I just got some numpty on the phone who had their facts wrong. it hasn't been that bad over the last 2 years has it?
Just put us out of our misery will ya! Oh and let us know if you are playing Bulldog as well so Schell knows whether to get a bigger tent.................
love to K. as well, who does a fab job of sorting your emails.

Dear Glen, I was just wondering? and i thought i'd ask this little question: Will there be another studio album ever recorded by the Sex Pistols again? After all you are all fit, healthy and alive! (The ones who could actually play that is!) Why don't you all try to get in the studio and put a 2nd album together? DANIEL LAWSON.
Hi Glen, i just got hold of a recording of the pistols inland invasion show from14/9/02, i'm utterly blown away and gobsmacked
You are God!! - Tim
Last night, Motley Crue played a SOLD OUT concert at Madison Square Garden. The last song which was part of the Encores was Glen's "Anarchy In The UK". It was amazing to hear 20,000 people screaming the words to one of Glen's compositions. - Eliot Wien, NYC.
hi just checkin out your site. went to see you at crystal palace (great show) and at blackburn couple of years ago. just wondered if the pistols have any plans for the future or is that it. cheers glen for some great memorys

Hi Glen. I have just been watching some old episodes of Revolver with you on performing with The Rich Kids. I can remember as a 12 year old staying up late to watch that on my black and white portable tv in my room with a ear piece so my parents wouldn't suspect. Great Days.
I was wondering if anyone could give me information on the sex pistols. I am currently doing a project on major European Icons and how they impacted society. Thank You
Kyle

Hi, Have just recently bought The Best of The Rich Kids and I have to say that Ambition, Precious and Just like Lazarus are more Spectres than Rich Kids – was that Arthur Collins on sax? What I really need to know is: apart from the deleted album After The Anarchy, is there any Spectres stuff out there in digital form?
Richard
dear glen matlock

Greetings from the cold damp north!! just wanted to say hello and hope you had a good chrimbo and new year!
will you be venturing north of watford any time? oh and yoni wants to know if the bulldog bash is a defo? i think she may have mentioned it to either you or kirky in the past and you/he wasn't sure - anyway, it was last year when she asked and i've slept since then so apologies if you haven't got a clue what i'm waffling about!! oh well, back to the grindstone.
see you soon(?). take care. love schellx
Glen,
Thanks for signing the book. It is a Christmas present for my daughter(14yrs old). As I told you she dragged us to see you in Derby because her mates let her down, and she has become a huge fan, even to learning guitar and trying to form a group. Sorry for nearly running you over in the car park!! We thought you and the gang were brill. Can't wait for the next gig. Once again thanks.
Rod
Dear Glen Matlock or whoever will receive this mail, last week I discovered the Rich Kids' ghost LP in a very tasty record shop in Gremen/Germany. They played "ghosts" over their stereo and i went like "Fuck - what kind of hit is this one, please?!" I asked the record dealer and he said "It's glen matlock's band after the sex pistols it's the Rich Kids. What you hear is a mixtape of mine but i've got their album here..." I bought it, went home to my girlfriends house, into the room, record player on, side A, third track and aahhhh... goose-skin, freak out... what a song!" Back to serious: There are not many songs more that touched me in a way this one did: It's punk rock, it's a perfect popsong, it's got that special british mod-like euphoria-feeling, it makes guys and
girls go crazy on the dancefloor and gives you a gooseskin dancing behind the record-players. yep, I can proof that - deejayed it
last weekend in a mothly 60's/punk club in my hometown. And now? I'd like to play it for myself and feel good. The chords are
no problem but I can't find the proper lyrics anywhere. Searched the whole fuckin internet. Can you help me, please!?
best wishes,
helge wagnerHelge,
Ha ha... Here you go -Ain't it fascinating the difference between those who have
You know there's those who make it and there's those who never may
And it's fascinating because it's really very clear
You've either got it honey
Or you ain't...Well you go and you tell me your ambitions
But then you say Rome wasn't built in a day
But Thomas the Imposter he lived a lie
It didn't matter at all that was his way...Ghosts of Princes in Towers
They're the soft boys and how
Ghosts of Princes in Towers
They're the sharp ones - they're now...So these Ghosts, these Princes in Towers
Seems to me they've got it made
'Cos they sulk and they strut for no reason
Well maybe they ain't afraid...Ghosts of Princes in Towers
They're the soft boys and how
Ghosts of Princes in Towers
They're the sharp ones - they're now...And it's ONE - remember number one
TWO well it's true
That THREE so free and easy that
Be FOUR too long you come back to this...Just a'singing 'bout
